Kacie Powers, PharmD, BCPS, is an Assistant Professor within the VCU School of Pharmacy’s Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science. Dr. Powers received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in 2005 and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from VCU in 2009. She completed one year postgraduate residency training in pharmacy practice at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Powers practiced as a clinical pharmacist at UVA Health System and Mount Sinai Hospital before joining the faculty at VCU. In her role at VCU, Dr. Powers is an instructor in the foundations of pharmacy practice skills laboratory and practices as part of the Geriatric Consult Service, an interprofessional team that provides care to older adults, at VCU Health. Dr. Powers is also interested in global health and has traveled with an interprofessional medical brigade to Honduras.
