Dr. Eric Parod completed his PGY1 experience with the VCU School of Pharmacy’s ambulatory care-focused program. Prior to that, he earned his PharmD degree from the Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA in 2015 and a BS in Psychology at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA in 2009. As part of his research with VCU and the Center for Healthy Hearts, Dr. Parod was awarded 1st place for “Best Poster” by the ACCP Ambulatory Care PRN during the 2016 ACCP Virtual Poster Symposium. His poster titled “Pharmacist-Physician Collaborative Care Model vs Standard Care: Assessing Time to Blood Pressure Goal” illustrated the benefit of pharmacist involvement in managing patients with hypertension.
Outside the clinic Dr. Parod is an aspiring beach bum, but when the ocean is too far away is content to spend time by the pool with his wife Kellie, family and friends. Professionally, Dr. Parod is passionate about furthering the integration of ambulatory care pharmacists into family medicine practices, and broadening the impact of pharmacists in the outpatient setting.
